Some more natural cleaning!

So it's finally come to it. That huge store of toilet bowl cleaner, Soft Scrub, and carpet deodorizer I had hanging out of the shelf above the washer and dryer finally ran out. And today will be the first "natural cleaning" the toilets will have gotten since we moved in. CRAZY!

I think the only cleaning products I'm left with are carpet cleaning solution and Windex. And once those run out, we'll be on to the natural choices for those as well. It's actually kind of amazing, now that I look back on it. Though this has been a year of steady gradualism, as we come to the end of this first year, much has changed...and without an ounce of pain. Can't wait till December to write up my "year in review".

But for now...for today -

TOILETS - Very simple: sprinkle baking soda and lemon juice in the toilet and let it sit for awhile; return and scrub with a toilet brush. Voila! That's it! (For heavier stains...spray vinegar around the sides.)

CARPET DEODORIZER - baking soda and a little basil or crushed lavender (a pretty easy ingredient to find here in the "lavender capital of the U.S.)

BATHTUB - Vinegar and baking soda...fill tub about an inch full...just to cover the bottom of the tub, pour in vinegar and let sit for awhile. Later, put baking soda on a damp rag and scrub away any soap scum or dirt.
