Ahhh...the spring rain...I think it's supposed to lead to something good...
but for now, it's mostly a pain in the ass as we try to get our front deck rebuilt - which is going well. The mud is fun. Footprints through the house, hourly sweeping...good times.
Also, spring rain means spring cleaning. Today, I tackled the master bathroom, ceiling to floor, corner to corner, on my hands and knees with a toothbrush. It was that kind of cleaning. It took nearly 2 hours to complete, but I think it may possibly be cleaner than it has ever been since it was new. I'm not sure what room I will do tomorrow, but it's my plan to get through one room per day of spring break.
Also, I'll be raking the yard, weeding, planting the spring herbs and such...
It's a busy season and a very busy week.

Spring drops down on gloomy wings,
storms, rages, sings and
stirs up an awakening.

Today also seems like a perfect day for a duet of my favorite poems by a complexly simple poet:
The Red Wheelbarrow
by William Carlos Williams
so much depends
upon
a red wheel
barrow
glazed with rain
water
beside the white
chickens.
This Is Just To Say
by William Carlos Williams
I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox
and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast
Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold
Lastly, tonight...I will leave you with an interesting new link. I read about it in an interview article in this month's SUN magazine called "The Bright Green City: Alex Steffan's Optimistic Environmentalism". I hope you enjoy:
