Culture of Charity

Tonight, it's off to PALOA's fundraiser performance at the Elk's. Supporting community causes and going to community events is a great way to get involved in....uh...wait for it...your community!!!

We actually go to quite a few local charity events, but it has been several months since our last, which was the Gothic Ball, an effort to raise money for local childrens' charities prior to Christmas.

I'm looking forward to tonight. But, it leaves little time for writing.

Suffice it to say...that one small change can be just that...giving "small change". Giving is a great way to receive. Most of us don't give enough, but when we do, it feels good. There are a ton of worthy charities out there, and it doesn't take much to help out. I know the Humane Society allows for a monthly debit. I did that for years...10 bucks a month, because I couldn't afford much more. Heck, now a days all you have to do is send a text message and, voila! This year, our entire donation to the local animal shelter was bought with the change we had saved all year in our family piggy bank (a whopping $100 plus).

So pick one, any one...and give...even if it's just pocket change. Change leads to "change"...and charity is good for everyone.
